It is with sadness that we announce that David Froese had passed away peacefully at the age of 96, surrounded by loved ones, on December 31, 2022 but are comforted in knowing that he goes to meet those who went before him. David was born in Winkler, Manitoba on October 14, 1926.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Hilda, his son Richard (Suzanne), five grandchildren; Rebecca McCormick (Rhys), Christopher Froese (Leah), Daniel Froese (Samantha) and Timothy and Jennifer Dunphy, as well as six great-grandchildren: Bennett, Eli, Franklin, Charlotte, Lucille and Tessa. He is also survived by four sisters: Hilda Borne (Herman), Jessie Falk (Albert Kornelsen), Heidi Dahl (Peter) and Ruth Burgess.
He was pre-deceased by his first wife Anne, his son Douglas and daughter Kathryn (Dunphy), his parents; Cornelius and Maria as well as seven of his siblings; Hank, Jake, Mary (Stobbe), Eleanor (Stobbe), Neil, Harry, Peter.
David was a man of faith, who was concerned with making life better. This was true in his personal and his professional life. He enjoyed working as well as traveling, visiting with friends and family, various recreational activities, helping good causes as well as having new and interesting adventures. He looked forward to uniting with those who went before and meeting his Savior.
We thank his doctor and support staff at Valhaven Home for the care, kindness and support given to him during the last eight months of his life.
A private burial will be held at Maclure Road Mennonite Cemetery on Friday morning, January 13, 2023. It will be followed by a Celebration of Life at Bakerview MB Church, 2285 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, B.C. at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception, also at the church.
