Andreas Friesen was born in Novosibirsk, Russia. He was the first born son of his parents, just moments after his twin brother Daniel was born. They were inseparable. Together they had an unexplainable bond that everyone could feel. Andreas and Daniel had each other to hold onto, in laughter, through fights, and tears, and in joys and blessings of life. Their Brotherly love would never fade, especially when their youngest sibling Joshua was born. Now Andrew and Dan had another brother they could tease and laugh with, teach life lessons to and have fun with. Those times will forever be cherished.
As Andreas matured through life, he felt the Holy Spirit begin to lead his heart and relationships toward Jesus. He began attending baptism classes to solidify his knowledge of Jesus. In June of 2007, Andreas got baptized at King Road MB Church alongside his soon to be wife, Marina. Andreas felt a righteous pull to be closer to God, and to walk the path that the LORD marked out for him. In 2008 Andreas and his wife, Marina got married. They were excited to see the future God could lead them into. Soon after a year of marriage, God blessed them with the most undeniably beautiful, blue eyed, miracle baby, Anthony Andreas Friesen. His little boy gave him immense joy, and pride to be called his father.
Andreas would always search for new hobbies to enjoy. Riding bikes, golfing, and immersing himself in the calmness of the river and hiking. He loved finding new ways to work diligently with his hands in all he did. A gift God gave him to find the little joys in life. Whether it was at his workplace painting and finishing cabinetry, doing home renovations, or helping his family build their next house, he loved to try to fix anything he set his eyes on. Even if it didn’t end up fixed, he could say that he tried.
Andreas will continue to live in all of us through the wonderful moments we made with him. In his charismatic character it was easy to see the comfort he brought with him, trying to do anything to bring a smile to your face. Let us look at the life he lived not with sadness but with joy that God could use him as his child. Philippians 1:6 reads “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”. We love you forever Andreas, and we look forward to joining you in God’s Kingdom.
