Supporting the Lavaca community

Our team takes an active role in the community in which we live. Our annual Appreciation Barbecue is our gesture of thanks for local first responders, clergy and military. History

We are honored to be part of the vibrant history of Calhoun County. The land beneath Richardson Funeral Home was originally purchased by Frank Richardson in 1947.

Over 70 years of funeral service

Over the next 50 years, the small funeral home on Main Street provided outstanding care to families across Calhoun County. Ownership of the funeral home in Port Lavaca changed hands several times throughout the years, and in 1961, Frank Kelly Sr. took the helm. See MoreSee Less

In 1988, Lloyd G. Hobbs took control until 1999, and in 2001, we became the Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Our current building has been in operation since 1960, when it was built by Rudy Rendon.
