The team at Memory Gardens Funeral Home is committed to accommodating families of all cultures and religions. Our non-denominational chapel has been the site of services and ceremonies for people of Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish and Catholic backgrounds, just to name a few—and because no 2 lives are the same, our team focuses on designing final services that reflect the uniqueness of special lives.

The main chapel at Memory Gardens Funeral Home seats 250 people; a smaller gathering room accommodates approximately 75. Visitation rooms can be converted to reception areas for as many as 100 guests. Whether you want a breakfast buffet, a champagne toast or a full dinner, we are happy to help organize catering before or after a funeral service.

Several of our staff members are bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish to fully serve our community in the Coastal Bend of Texas.

Cremation services

We specialize in cremation services that honor loved ones in personalized ways, and families love our transparent pricing. With expertise in scattering ashes and a friendly team who pays attention to every detail, we provide service that is second to none.

More and more people are choosing cremation over traditional burial, but most aren’t familiar with the many options:

• a cremation without a funeral or memorial service of any kind.
• a funeral with your loved one present, followed by cremation.
• a cremation followed by a scattering, cemetery memorialization or celebration of life—or all three.

For those who wish for a more momentous memorial, Neptune Memorial Reef is an underwater cremation garden off the coast of Florida. A Celestis Memorial Spaceflight takes ashes into space for a little while or forever.

There are many options for cremation—and they're not all equal. Here's what you can expect when you choose us for your loved one's cremation:

• Custody of care guaranteed. Our custody-of-care program helps safeguard the identification of your loved one from the time we bring them into our care until the time we return them to your family. We check, cross-check and check again, every step of the way.
• Exclusive custody of your loved one. We use only crematories owned and operated by Dignity Memorial^® providers or trusted partners. Once your loved one is in our custody or that of a trusted partner, they’re in our care until they’re returned to your family.
• Licensed, certified, conscientious staff. All Dignity Memorial crematory operators are licensed and certified by Cremation Association of North America, or CANA. Only one person at a time is cremated, and the cremation chamber is thoroughly cleaned before the next person is cremated.

History

Memory Gardens cemetery was established in 1952. Memory Gardens Funeral Home was built on the picturesque cemetery property in 1994. Through many years of assisting Corpus Christi families, the cemetery and funeral home have led and innovated while maintaining high standards of service. The teams at Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Memory Gardens work hard to uphold that commitment and the traditions of our founders for compassionate care.

Memory Gardens cemetery

Memory Gardens is 114 acres of expertly manicured grounds offering a diverse range of burial options, from traditional in-ground interment to above-ground mausoleum entombment. We also offer columbaria and niches for cremated remains, as well as memorial benches, private family estates and other permanent memorialization choices.

Each section of the Corpus Christi cemetery includes an identifying feature or landmark, such as a sculpture or monument. Additionally, our memorial park includes a beautiful selection of trees and seasonal flowers, and because we are in a more rural area of Corpus Christi, on Old Brownsville Road, the quiet here is palpable.

Honoring military veterans

Veterans funerals at Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Memory Gardens include military honors with elements such as a 3-volley salute and a flag presentation. The cemetery includes areas reserved for those who served in the U.S. armed forces.

The funeral home and cemetery also participate in the Homeless Veterans Burial Program (HVBP). Founded upon the belief that every veteran deserves a dignified and honorable burial, HVBP is a cooperative effort with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, local medical examiners, coroners, veterans’ advocates and veterans’ organizations to provide homeless and indigent veterans who have no family to claim with proper military burials.
