About
Craciun Berry Funeral Home has provided funeral and cremation services to families in the Cleveland area since 1941. Our team of funeral professionals takes great care in helping families create memorable memorials for their loved ones. Devoted to delivering the highest level of satisfaction possible, we consider every detail.
Renovated funeral home
Located on Detroit Avenue, not far from the Gordon Square Arts District, Craciun Berry Funeral Home was beautifully updated in 2018. It is a comfortable place to plan a memorial. It includes a flexible on-site chapel and areas for catered receptions. The latest technology allows playlists and tribute videos to be played to perfection. Need us to create a video? We take care of it all.
Not only does the team at Craciun Berry Funeral Home understand that losing a loved one is a difficult experience, we also know that every life is unique and every family is different. That's why we take time to learn about your loved one’s personality, passions, hobbies and interests. How did she live her life? What did he love the most? What made them smile?
Let’s plan a memorial as special as the life lived. We can find inspiration almost anywhere. Just start with a story. We'll take it from there.
Traditional and contemporary services
At Craciun Berry Funeral Home, we are committed to helping your family create a meaningful tribute that celebrates everything that made your loved one extraordinary. From a simple cremation with a scattering at a personally meaningful place to a full traditional funeral service with a cemetery burial and a coffee-and-cake reception, we handle every aspect of the service, so you can spend more time with the people you care about.
Create that perfect lakeside barbecue complete with a live band, favorite foods and personalized mementos, or a baseball-themed reception with hot dogs and Cracker Jacks. A funeral or cremation memorial can be as simple or elaborate as you desire. No wish is too big, no detail too small. We’re here to make your vision a reality.

History
John Craciun Jr. dedicated his life to service. He served his country as a medic (North Africa Campaign) and staff sergeant (European Campaign) in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars for his meritorious valor on the battlefield. After the war, he and his wife, Yolanda, began a lifelong career of serving the community.
In 1941, they opened Craciun Funeral Home at 6204 Detroit Ave., across from St. Mary Romanian Orthodox Church, the first Romanian Orthodox Church in the United States.
Their sons, Joseph and Jim Craciun, joined the family business in the 1970s. Joseph and Jim supported the Cleveland community through civic leadership and church involvement and saw their business grow through the years.
After John Jr.’s passing in 1985, Joseph, Jim and Yolanda acquired Koval Funeral Home in Middleburg Heights, opening the door to a whole new community.
Decades of service
In 1995, Craciun Funeral Home joined the Dignity Memorial family of funeral, cremation, and cemetery service providers. With an affiliation with the former Corrigan and Berry Funeral Homes, we are one of five locations serving Cleveland, Fairview Park, Middleburg Heights and Westlake. We are proud to continue our founders’ commitment to service excellence and community involvement.
