Brand-new funeral home building

Conveniently located in the heart of Gladstone, on the grounds of Newcomer's White Chapel Cemetery, the brand-new Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home features more than 12,000 square feet of space. Families enter through a beautiful lobby with a custom, suspended-wood-panel ceiling and a 10-foot-wide fireplace.

The elegant chapel seats more than 200 people in Chiavari chairs. It has vaulted ceilings, converts easily to an event space and has state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment that accommodates all types of media. Nine projectors display visual effects during themed services.

The funeral home also has a hospitality room for receptions of up to 60 guests, private family viewing rooms and five arrangement rooms. A porch overlooking Newcomer's White Chapel Cemetery offers another 1,000 square feet of gathering space.

Our care for you and your family doesn't end after your loved one's service is over. Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home offers online grief resources accessible from anywhere. Families who choose us for their loved one's service also have access to our 24-hour Compassion Helpline^®.

For up to 13 months after planning a Dignity Memorial^® service, a family gets unlimited complimentary phone access to professionals trained in grief counseling any time day or night, for any reason. Any guest who attends a visitation, funeral service or burial gets the same access for up to three months.

Newcomer's White Chapel Cemetery

Newcomer's White Chapel Cemetery comprises 45 meticulously maintained acres. It is a peaceful place of evergreen trees (cypress, pine, Douglas fir and cedar), maples, Bradford pears, red sunset sweet-gums and purple plums. When in bloom, honeysuckle and roses scent the air. Several geese have made the cemetery's lake their home.

Burial options

Newcomer's White Chapel Cemetery offers an array of interment options: in-ground burial, four mausoleum complexes, columbaria, lawn crypts, cremation niches and benches, and private and semiprivate estates.

Revelations is a large indoor mausoleum that features personalized glass-front niches. Unlike traditional granite memorials that allow only for a name and dates, these niches allow for personal items. Think: favorite records, family photographs, sports memorabilia or a collection of jewelry. In lieu of a traditional urn, cremated remains could be held in a tobacco canister, baseball, cookie jar or another personally meaningful container.

Inside the mausoleum, there are sitting areas with comfortable chairs and benches. Families may choose to hold committal services here.

Our newest development, the cremation section of Garden of Memories holds numerous options for those who choose cremation. Granite niches and pedestals can be personalized. Custom private columbarium estates allow families to create a legacy for generations to come.

Honoring veterans and public servants

Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home and Newcomer's White Chapel Cemetery participate in the Homeless Veterans Burial Program and the Public Servants Program.

Through the Homeless Veterans Burial Program, we coordinate with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, local medical examiners, coroners, veterans advocates and veterans organizations to provide veterans funerals for those who have fallen on hard times.

The Public Servants Program recognizes the courage and selflessness of career and volunteer law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency services personnel by providing honorable, no-cost memorials for those who fall in the line of duty. The program also offers counseling services to family members, as well as the opportunity to create an internet tribute as a loving memorial.

Community events

Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home and Newcomer's White Chapel Cemetery hold various events throughout the year. The Memorial Day service honors those who have given their lives for our freedom. Guests can expect moving speeches and a reception in front of Revelations Mausoleum. In December, we host a non-denominational Night of Remembrance, which includes sweet treats and seasonal music. Guests are invited to hang ornaments with the names and photos of loved ones on our tree and light candles in their honor. Community leaders from many religious groups are present to provide loving support.

History

Newcomer's White Chapel Cemetery was established in Gladstone, Missouri, in the early 1950s on open pastureland. In 1973, Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home opened on the cemetery property. Together the sister locations provide vital convenience and ease for families when planning funeral and burial arrangements.
