The nondenominational chapel has comfortable seating and audio/visual equipment for personalized slideshows and music selections. A relaxed space in which to celebrate the life of a loved one, the center is also available for visitations and is never booked by more than one family at a time.

Cremation in Monee

With an on-site crematory, expertise in scattering ashes and a friendly team, we specialize in cremation services that honor loved ones in personalized ways.

More and more people are choosing cremation over traditional burial, but most aren’t familiar with all the options:

  • a cremation without a funeral or memorial service of any kind.
  • a funeral with your loved one present, followed by cremation.
  • a cremation followed by a scattering, cemetery memorialization or celebration of life—or all three.

There are many cremation providers from which to choose. Here’s what you can expect when you choose Skyline Funeral Home for your loved one’s cremation:

  • Custody of care guaranteed. Our identification pendant and custody-of-care program help safeguard the identification of your loved one.
  • Exclusive custody of your loved one. Once your loved one is in the care of a Dignity Memorial® provider or trusted partner, they’re in our care until they’re returned to your family.
  • Licensed, certified, conscientious staff. All Dignity Memorial crematory operators in Illinois are licensed and certified by the Cremation Association of North America, or CANA. Unless there are special circumstances and your family has requested otherwise, only one person at a time is cremated. Additionally, the cremation chamber is thoroughly cleaned before the next person is cremated.

Veterans funerals and burials

We deeply appreciate those who have sacrificed for our freedoms and feel privileged to honor veterans and their families in need of funeral and cremation services. We can arrange for an honor guard and the playing of Taps. Our experienced funeral directors are dedicated to ensuring that every veteran is honored in a manner befitting their service and giving their families the support they need.

In addition to assisting with an immediate need, Skyline Funeral Home and Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery specialize in working with families to make final arrangements in advance. When you plan ahead, you relieve your family from financial and emotional burdens while ensuring your wishes are fulfilled. Grief support and aftercare

The loss of a loved one can be devastating, and many people don’t know where to turn or how to cope. We’re here to help you during difficult times—you aren’t alone. Though the experience of grief can be very isolating, the articles in our grief library can make a difference in your day-to-day life, and families who plan services with us get access to our 24-hour Compassion Helpline® (services provided by Charles Nechtem Associates) for up to 13 months after a service.

History

Peter Kint Sr. and his wife, Toos, emigrated from the Netherlands in 1953, initially settling in Southwest Michigan. In 1959, they moved to Illinois, when Peter was hired to handle the accounting operations and superintendent duties of Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery. He became the business owner in 1985.

Peter and Toos had four sons: Pete, Paul, Rich and Ron. The brothers spent many summers working at Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery, and each has contributed to the business in his own way.

In the early 1990s, Ron made numerous updates to the property’s landscaping, rehabilitating and reshaping many of the trees and shrubbery that adorn the grounds today. Pete has worked seasonally at Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery since 1998, assisting with the general upkeep of the grounds. Rich was hired in 1990 to oversee all accounting and business operations. He remains vice president of the company today. Paul joined the business in 1985. With an architectural degree, he and Rich were instrumental in the building and design of the new memorial center. Paul is now president of Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery.

Fondly remembered by many, Peter passed away in February 1997. He is forever remembered as the silver-haired man who could be seen walking the cemetery grounds with his pipe. Today, the business employs the third generation of Kints. In 2009, Rich’s son, Jake, became the full-time groundskeeper and Paul’s daughter, Laura, assists with other business responsibilities.

Although not technically family, Jeff Scott might as well be, as he began working as the primary groundskeeper at the cemetery in 1979.

In 2017, Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery opened a modern event center to give families a place to celebrate their loved ones. In 2022, Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery joined the Dignity Memorial® family of funeral homes, crematories and cemeteries. In 2024, Skyline Funeral Home opened on the property.
