Of course, you do not have to be from a prominent Miami family to be buried at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn North. Anyone—no matter their background, culture or religion—is welcome here. We are located in the heart of Little Havana and celebrate our diverse and vibrant neighborhood. To better serve Spanish-speaking families, we have bilingual team members who speak both English and Spanish.

A range of burial choices

Selecting a memorial that’s right for you and your loved ones is an important decision. At Caballero Rivero Woodlawn North, we offer a wide variety of burial, entombment and cremation memorialization options to suit your needs. Choices include traditional ground burial, in-ground lawn crypts and above-ground entombment or inurnment in one of our stately mausoleums. We also have private family and individual burial accommodations, including private estates and private mausoleums.

Over the years, cremation has become increasingly popular so we strive to provide the cremation memorialization options that today’s families are looking for. Our beautifully landscaped cremation garden offers cremation benches, niches, pedestals, columbaria and more. Within Woodlawn North Mausoleum, we offer gorgeous glass-front niches, which can be personalized with mementos, photos and flowers to honor loved ones.

Unique memorials commemorate Miami’s history

Our 66-acre cemetery includes several unique memorials. We have a large memorial dedicated to both the survivors and those lost during the 1935 Labor Day hurricane. The storm was the most intense hurricane to make landfall in the United States at the time and the 3rd-worst Atlantic hurricane ever. The Category 5 hurricane killed 408 people, including 259 World War I veterans living in the area.

We also have a Masonic memorial in front of our mausoleum and several flags for the unknown Cuban freedom fighters buried here. The flags stand as a reminder of the Freedom Flyers, who transported Cubans to Miami twice a day, 5 times a week, from 1965 to 1973. About 300,000 refugees made the flight from Cuba to Miami, and we honor those brave pilots who made the journey.

Grand and historic Woodlawn North Mausoleum

Renowned for its magnificent stained-glass windows, Gothic-style architecture and elegant marble corridors, the exquisite Woodlawn North Mausoleum is a cherished resting place. Designed in 1926 by the famed mausoleum architect, McDonald Lovell, the building is reminiscent of a medieval cathedral. The mausoleum has light-filled marble corridors and an exquisite chapel with columned archways and stained-glass skylights. The chapel seats 60 guests for a committal service.
