Cremation services

We specialize in cremation services that honor loved ones in personalized ways, and families love our transparent pricing. With expertise in scattering ashes and a friendly team who pays attention to every detail, we provide service that is second to none.

More and more people are choosing cremation over traditional burial, but most aren’t familiar with the many options:

• a cremation without a funeral or memorial service of any kind.
• a funeral with your loved one present, followed by cremation.
• a cremation followed by a scattering, cemetery memorialization or celebration of life—or all three.

For those who wish for a more momentous memorial, Neptune Memorial Reef is an underwater cremation garden off the coast of Florida. A Celestis Memorial Spaceflight takes ashes into space for a little while or forever.

There are many options for cremation—and they're not all equal. Here's what you can expect when you choose us for your loved one's cremation:

• Custody of care guaranteed. Our custody-of-care program helps safeguard the identification of your loved one from the time we bring them into our care until the time we return them to your family. We check, cross-check and check again, every step of the way.
• Exclusive custody of your loved one. We use only crematories owned and operated by Dignity Memorial^® providers or trusted partners. Once your loved one is in our custody or that of a trusted partner, they’re in our care until they’re returned to your family.
• Licensed, certified, conscientious staff. All Dignity Memorial crematory operators are licensed and certified by Cremation Association of North America, or CANA. Only one person at a time is cremated, and the cremation chamber is thoroughly cleaned before the next person is cremated.

At Caballero Rivero Westchester, we believe in creating a memorialization as unique as your loved one. We work with you to incorporate memorabilia, photos, decor and other objects that represent the life of your loved one. Did she make the best Key lime pie in town? We can share her recipe with your guests and coordinate with a caterer to serve the tangy dessert before, during or after the service. Did he spend his Sunday mornings fishing in Key Biscayne? We can display his fishing rods and share a memorial video that showcases his most memorable catches.

Modern and versatile event spaces

No matter if you wish to host an over-the top extravaganza, an intimate gathering or something in between, we can host services of all sizes and types at Caballero Rivero Westchester. Our funeral home has 7 beautiful visitation rooms. Each is similar in size, accommodating 50-60 people, and simply but tastefully decorated. Three of our rooms can extend in size via sliding walls if the service needs additional space, accommodating up to 180 people.

Due to the cultural demands of our location, our visitation rooms are typically open areas. The main room is open, with sofas and recliners on the sides. The casket is typically presented in the middle of the room. If a church-style visitation is preferred, we can accommodate that as well.

Catered receptions

Welcome your friends and family with a catered reception to honor the life of your loved one. At Caballero Rivero Westchester, we offer catering services for anything from desserts or appetizers to lunch or dinner. Our choice menus include pastelitos and even a deluxe espresso and cappuccino cart.

A funeral home for everyone

Miami is a diverse community. At Caballero Rivero Westchester, we embrace cultural and religious diversity. Our staff is bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English. We are also well-versed in many religions, and we are happy to incorporate your traditions and customs into a one-of-a-kind funeral or memorial service.

Though Rivero Westchester is not located at a cemetery, we work frequently with Woodland Park West, Woodland Park South and Woodland Park North, and can recommend other cemeteries that can accommodate the specific burial options you may need. It is our goal to ensure a seamless transition from funeral home to cemetery every step of the way.

Military funeral provider

Miami has a large military presence, and at Caballero Rivero Westchester, we are well-versed in military funerals with honors, ensuring all traditions are upheld. We believe every member of the U.S. armed forces has earned the right to a dignified celebration of life. To that end, we are also involved in the Homeless Veterans Burial Program. This gives all veterans the right to a memorial service, regardless of his or her financial condition.

Supporting the Miami community

At Caballero Rivero Westchester, we are actively involved in the Miami community. We host a number of events at our funeral home throughout the year, including a weekend-long Mother’s Day celebration during which we hand out red and white roses to families visiting our property. We also participate in the Miami area Relay for Cancer every October.
