What are cremation benches?
A cremation bench is a granite or granite and bronze memorial bench that either houses cremated remains or marks the place where cremated remains are buried in a cemetery. Cremation benches are typically installed in cremation gardens or other areas of a cemetery. The surrounding areas can be landscaped for an especially beautiful spot to rest and remember. Cremation benches come in two styles:
Straight-leg bench
As the name implies, the legs on this bench are straight up and down, and the bench is open underneath. The seat of the bench and the legs are polished. The bench can be designed with a niche (or two) for cremated remains, and the seat is usually personalized with a name (or names), dates or a symbol.
Pedestal bench
The base of a pedestal bench is a solid granite pedestal that can be designed with one or two niches for cremated remains. The seat of the bench and the front and back of the pedestal are polished. The front and/or the back of the pedestal can be laser-etched with names, dates, images and more.
Personalizing cremation benches
Cremation memorial benches can be personalized in many ways. You can choose the colour of the granite from a list of options as well as the engraving on the granite. Engraving options are limited only by your imagination and the amount of space on the bench. Names and dates are common, of course, but you could also include pictures or symbols. For example, interlocking wedding rings for a couple might be a fitting choice.
