Beautiful Calgary funeral home

Chapel at South Calgary Funeral Centre and CrematoriumOur chapel comfortably seats 125 guests with room for overflow seating. A natural stone wall grounds the ethereal space, creating an inviting and sophisticated setting. At the rear of the chapel is an intimate reception area, well suited for a relaxed gathering. The entire chapel and attached reception area can be converted to accommodate a large personalized memorial reception or a celebration of life ceremony.

Personalized services

Experts in serving most faiths, religions and cultures, we personalize each service according to your wishes and traditions. We also accommodate those who prefer a nonreligious service or less formal gathering. Whatever your needs and desires, our experienced professionals are ready and willing to help you through every detail.

History

South Calgary Funeral Centre and Crematorium has a longstanding tradition of integrity in Calgary, Alberta. Formerly Jacques Funeral Home & Crematorium, we are proud to have a history dating back to 1930.

The Little Chapel on the Corner

Jacques Funeral Home, then known as The Little Chapel on the Corner, was established by George and Vera Jacques. The Little Chapel on the Corner was located at 240-17th Avenue SW. The Jacques family developed a reputation for serving the community with integrity, a tradition that continues today.

Relocation and renovation

Since 1984, South Calgary Funeral Centre and Crematorium has been part of the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. In 1998, Jacques Funeral Home relocated to 12700 Macleod Trail South. Our facility underwent an extensive renovation in 2008 and is now the beautiful location we know today.

Looking to the future, the name South Calgary Funeral Centre and Crematorium brings the promise of service to a new generation of Calgarians, along with the tradition and history of serving previous generations. We are proud members of the Better Business Bureau, Alberta Funeral Services Association and Funeral Service Association of Canada.
