Zinnie Mae Davis-Turner, affectionately called “Honey”, dedicated her life to serving and caring for others. After living many years in Germany, she moved back to the states where she worked for Caterpillar for several years. Her passion for helping others, with a focus on children with special needs, inspired her to go back to school and become a nurse. Naturally, as her passion for caring for children with delicate needs grew, she became a full time foster parent, fostering children with unique and challenging disabilities. She spent her last years gracefully raising her grandson, James R. “Trey” Williams as her own.
She loved playing Bid Whist and she was a force to reckon with on the card table. She loved to cook and became a restaurant owner in Peoria, IL and Clarksdale, MS. She also loved fishing, gardening, and listening to music. Her favorite song was “Doctor, My Eyes” by Jackson Browne.
Our “Honey” will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will forever be remembered.
