

Born on April 4, 1937, in Yonkers, New York, Barbara was the beloved daughter of James and Helen (Salvatore) McCabe. She was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Class of 1955.
She went on to build a long and successful career in management with Verizon, where she dedicated over 30 years of service.
Barbara was a devoted member of Christ the King Church in Yonkers, where her faith was an important part of her life.
She had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader, a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, and a true foodie who enjoyed exploring good meals and great company. She especially cherished her vacations to Cape Cod and could often be found enjoying a day of shopping. "She was a lover of Starbucks and always enjoyed trying their newest drinks." Above all, Barbara was known for her generous spirit and loving heart, always putting others before herself.
She is survived by her sister, Joan Cahill; her niece, Susan (Rodney) Crandall; her nephew, Scott (Debbie)Cahill; her great-nieces, Madison and Lauren; her great-nephew, Ryan; and many other extended family members and friends. She also leaves behind her dear friend, Robert(Arnolvia) who held a special place in her life.
Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, warmth, and generosity will be remembered always
Visiting Hours will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703 on Thursday April 23, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Catholic Church, 740 N Broadway, Yonkers, NY 10701 on Thursday April 23, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, 50 Jackson Ave, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706.
