Barbra was more than a landlady to us—she was family, like a sister. She watched my daughters grow over the past 10 years we lived in Yonkers and was always kind and caring to us. Her passing came as a great shock to me and my girls. We take comfort knowing she is in heaven. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. My heartfelt condolences to Barbra’s family, and especially to Joan. May God give you comfort and strength during this difficult time. From Karen and daughters, Lacey and Kasonde.

Barbara made my family and I very happy with her kindness and blessed heart. A very Christian woman that knew how important God is. I will miss her everyday.

Dear Barbara, we do not know how to fill the immense emptiness you have left behind, but we feel certain that your love will always be with us; you were family to us. Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. How could we ever forget our coffees at Starbucks, or driving around to various places together in your car while listening to Frank Sinatra. These are many years of beautiful memories that will remain with us forever. Thank you for being a part of our stories and for leaving such a beautiful imprint on our lives; thank you for every moment shared, for every smile, and for every lesson learned. There are simply no words sufficient to thank you for everything you mean to us. We carry your memories in our hearts. Your life was a blessing, and your memory is a treasure. We pray and know that God welcomes you into His glory and grants you eternal peace. Despite the profound sadness we feel, we hold fast to the hope of the resurrection and the promise that we will meet again in heaven. Losing someone we love is one of the most difficult trials we face in life. Yet the Bible gives us hope! It points to a beautiful future, as Isaiah 25:8 (and Revelation 21:3,4) promises: “God will actually swallow up death forever and Jehovah God will certainly wipe the tears from all faces.” Please also read John 5:28,29. These wonderful verses have brought comfort to many who are grieving, myself included. I truly hope they bring you peace as well.  Once again, my deepest and sincerest condolences.
