While growing up in Pratt, Mary Ann attended Catholic schools and was very involved in singing and pageant competitions, later named Miss Pratt in 1957 and then went on to win Miss Congeniality in the Miss Kansas Pageant. In 1966, Mary Ann met the love of her life, Fred Glassco, in Wichita and the couple were married on December 8, 1967, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Family was always the primary focus of Mary Ann's life in over 55 years of marriage. She created a beautiful home for her family with an innate sense of style and appreciation for antiques. Over the years she was an avid shopper, earning a personalized license plate "Shopper", and often developed friendships through her shopping adventures.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adlai and Rose Holmes, and her husband, Fred.
Mary Ann is survived by her son, Jeff Glassco (Kristen); daughter, Jennifer Flemming (Scott); son, Tim Glassco; grandchildren, Patrick Sanner, Kara Varnadore (Keegan), Taylor Glassco (Andie), Austin Glassco, Timothy Glassco (Gloria), Courtney Glassco, Adam Glassco, Campbell Flemming, Laura Flemming; and great-grandchildren, Wyatt Glassco and Weston Glassco.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1, at Lakeview Cemetery in the Garden of Lakes 3rd, 12100 E. 13th Street N., Wichita, KS 67206.
