Marcia Jan Seiffert, 80, of Wichita Falls, Texas on May 4, 2024, closed her eyes to this earth and the cancer she battled, and opened her eyes to heaven having received her eternal healing and ran into Jesus’s arms. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!
Jan was born in Charleston, South Carolina on January 30, 1944 to William Swift and Madeline Huggins Swift. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1962 and attended Draughon Business College. Jan married Dale Seiffert in June of 1975, and was married to him until his death in 2000. She enjoyed her role as mother and homemaker to her family. She also loved serving in her church as a Sunday School teacher for women, youth and children, serving in Vacation Bible Schools, and also was a gifted singer and sang in the church choir. Jan was involved in Evangelism Explosion Ministry and was active in door to door evangelism. She felt God’s calling on her towards evangelism and took it very seriously, never missing an opportunity to tell someone about her precious Lord and Savior Jesus. She became a born again Christian in 1978 and has never looked back. She was a light to everyone that knew her and impacted others for Jesus with her testimony, her kindness, and her life. She poured into others wanting them to know Jesus as she knew Him. The most beloved thing she has had in her life has been sharing Jesus, her Savior, with others and bringing glory to Him. She praises God her precious family is saved and we will all be together with Him in Gloryland. Hallelujah!
Jan loved music and her favorite songs were Victory in Jesus and What A Day That Will Be. She loved the book of Revelation and end times prophecy and was anxiously awaiting the Rapture. She was well versed in spiritual warfare and told her loved ones and her friends to always Armor Up so they would have the Armor of God on them mentioned in Ephesians 6! Jan was a woman of tremendous faith and a giant prayer warrior who stormed heaven constantly for others. Those who knew her knew that she had a sweet relationship with Jesus and she communed with him daily.
In March 2024, Jan received a terminal cancer diagnosis and Hospice Home Care was brought in to care for her needs and lovingly cared for her weekly. As she declined in health, she was transferred from her home to the Hospice Inpatient Facility where she continued to be lovingly cared for by these amazing Hospice caregivers. The family would like to extend their gratitude to both Hospice Home Care and the Inpatient Facility for their gentleness and kindness to her in her last weeks, days, and moments. They are truly Jesus’s hands and feet to those at the end of their lives.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale, and her brother John Swift and his wife Bertha. Jan is survived by her daughter Kristy Fisher and husband John; daughter Cathy Osborn and husband Duke; stepson Joseph White; grandchildren McKenna Geron and Jaxton Geron; grandson Bryan Osborn and wife Alison; grandson Travis Osborn and wife Maria; great-grandchildren Lily and Benjamin Osborn; and niece Garnet Gilbreath and husband Kenneth, and their son Garen.
A graveside service will be held at Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home on May 7, 2024 for immediate family only per Jan’s request. In lieu of flowers, family members ask for memorials to be made in Jan’s name to Hospice of Wichita Falls at 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas, 76310.
