Roberta (Bobbi)was born in Webster City, Iowa. She graduated from Emmetsburg high school. She moved to Colorado after high school graduation at the age of 17. She started working as a secretary for Theaters and Arenas division for the City and County of Denver, where she retired after 48 years as the business manager for Theaters and Arenas. She met her husband William (Bill) Niles Jr. there. Bill and Bobbi divorced; both were remarried. Bobbi married Kenneth McFarland in 1980.
Bobbi is survived by her daughter Robin Niles-Gosser, son in law Scott Gosser, grand children Calvin Gosser and Jena Gosser, Colorado. Brother Jarold Fish (Florida). She is preceded in death by her mother Opal Larson, father Robert Hammitt, grandparents Wilhelm Larson and Virgie Larson. Bobbi was raised by her grandparents, her mother died when Bobbi was 5 due to tuberculosis. Her family was important to her. Bobbi loved her grandchildren very much. She had the privilege of being around them all the time since they all resided together.
Bobbi was active with the Masonic family. She did a lot of work with the youth group Job’s Daughters. She truly enjoyed working with the young girls, helping them grow through the teen years and becoming young ladies. She was like a second mom to the girls. She loved them all. She was also a part of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. Ken was involved with the Shrine as well and she would go places with them and enjoyed the friendships she made there.
