John Pascone passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 26, 2024, in Wethersfield, Connecticut, at the age of 72. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maryanne (Tesik) Pascone; his children Daniel, Matthew and wife Bruna, Kara and husband Sean; his grandson, DJ; daughter-in-law, Shannon; his sister, Pamela (Pascone) and husband Mark Brooks, and numerous extended family members and close friends.
John was born and raised in Hartford and is the son of the late Carl and Rose (Ferraro) Pascone. He was an accomplished saxophone player and spent years playing in various jazz and pop groups. As a barber, John owned and operated several area hair salons and worked until the very end. Throughout his long career, he forged many friendships with his loyal clients that lasted a lifetime.
John loved his family above all else. He was also a lifelong devoted New York Yankees, Giants and Knicks fan. He treasured his ever-growing fruit tree collection and had a passion for cooking that he inherited from his mother and grandmother. John enjoyed spending summers at the beach house and crabbing on the weekends with his best friend, Richie. John’s passing is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to John’s family on Tuesday, April 30 from 4-8 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Hartford Ave., Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church.
