Josef was born on December 21, 1932 in Batschsentiwan, Yugoslavia to his parents Heinrich and Elizabeth.
Josef loved gardening, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Jager Hunting Group through the Carpathian Club, he loved being outdoors in the fresh air. He was known as an all-around great guy that got along with everyone and an excellent handyman with excellent skills as a locksmith, roofing and doing various maintenance jobs.He never met a stranger and loved everybody.
He is survived by his children Michael Stefan, Robert (Audra) Stefan and Susan (Alberto) Medina-Stefan, grandchildren Nicole (Eric) Thibodeau, Daniel Stefan, Charles Stefan, Tamara (Reggie) Sanders, Jenna Medina, Hannah Medina, Jason (Victoria) DePelsMaeker, Allysia (Mark) Clarkson, great grandchildren Joey, Johnny, Jason, Carmen, Amelia, Sterling, Reggie Jr., Brooklyn, Crimsynn, Dahlia, Jason, Felicity, Jasmyne, Henry, Patrick, and Sawyer, brother in law Lawrence Dietz and sister in law Kathi Dietz.
He was preceded in passing by his companion and loving wife of 62 years, Maria (d. 2020), parents Heinrich and Elizabeth, father in law George Saller and mother in law Magdelina Saller.
Friends may visit the A H Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, MI 48088 on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2024 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 18201 23 Mile Road, Macomb Twp., MI 48042 with an In-State time of 9:30 A.M. with Mass beginning at 10:00 A.M.
Josef will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Maria at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp., MI following services.
