Sadly, on April 25, 2024 the heart of our family, Mary Jean Levinson Spradlin, passed away at the age of 74. She was a wonderful wife and mom, whom was always there when needed. Mama Mary, as she was known to friends and family, was always up for a shopping trip or car ride. Mary was one of the most inadvertently funny people and laughed readily.
She enjoyed giving her husband of 50 years, Rick, a much needed hard time or laughing at one of her three daughters' expense. Mary could often be found sitting on her porch admiring the flowers, reading a book, or taking a nap... occasionally all three at the same time! One definitely would not find her cooking as that was one of her least favorite chores. Mary immensely enjoyed the act of giving to those in need, which would serve well in her nursing career. She entered the military as a registered nurse in 1970 and soon flew to Vietnam, where she would end up meeting a suave helicopter pilot she would later marry. Mary would become a dedicated nurse for 42 years with 36 spent at Providence St.
Peter Hospital. Mama Mary is proceeded in death by her parents: Theodore V. Levinson and Jeanne Baldwin Levinson.
She is survived by her husband Richard (Rick), her three daughters: Amy, Kimberly and Meg Spradlin and her two sisters, Margaret Ann McCabe of MO and Ruth Conrad of WV. Funeral services to be held at Mills & Mills Funeral Home,
5725 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater, WA 98512, May 10, 2024.
Visitation 11am-12pm, Service 12pm -1pm with refreshments afterwards. As Mary was an Inflammatory Breast Cancer survivor, please consider donating in her honor to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in lieu of flowers. www.bcrf.org
