Mary was born on December 25, 1932 to the late Leyra and William R. Ingram, Sr. in Atlanta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Owen Daniel Kinsey; her parents, William Robert Ingram, Sr and Leyra Vanetta Ingram; her brothers, William Robert (Bill) Ingram, Jr., John Thomas Ingram Sr, Howard Edward Ingram, Franklin Jeremiah Ingram, and Charles Whitfield Ingram.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Chuck) Thompson and Kim (Tim) Davis; grandson, Dakota (Hope) Davis; special niece, Tracie (Steve) Crandall; sisters, Shirley Brown, Elsie Corley and Nonie (Frank) Galofaro.
Tootsie, which was a name given to her by her father as a child, was a very talented seamstress. She could turn a piece of fabric into a beautiful work of art. She was a creative person and enjoyed crocheting, decorating cakes, making flower arrangements, embroidery, ceramics, porcelain dolls, and everything in between.
Her life and strength was her family and her faith in God. She was proud of and loved her girls (Tracie included) and grandson with all her heart. She was the oldest girl and one of nine children. Her family has always been what made her life complete. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and had just returned from a sister’s trip to Florida.
A visitation of family and friends will be held for Tootsie on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of her life will take place Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Ward's Chapel. Services will conclude with a graveside committal at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. Frank Galofaro, officiating.
