Dorothy lived in Tompkinsville and graduated from PS 16 and Curtis High School in 1943. In 1947 she married Alfonso Cubas and from that union were three sons, Alfonso Jr., Kenneth and Larry. Alfonso Sr. died in 1985, Kenneth died in 2001 and Larry died in 2008.
In 1958 Dorothy moved to West Brighton and resided there until the Lord called her home.
Dorothy was employed by Merrill Lynch as an Option Margin Clerk retiring in 1990 after 30 years of service. She loved to crochet and knit making articles for family and friends.
Dorothy was an active member of Bethel Community Church for 80 years, an organist for 40 years, secretary of the Trustees Board for many years, member of the Women’s Guild and always helping in fund raising affairs. She belonged to the West Brighton Cassidy Cole Senior Center and AARP Willowbrook Chapter 3862. She loved to travel the world and enjoyed going to St. Maarten often to visit relatives and friends.
She leaves to mourn her, son Alfonso Jr., daughters-in-law Susanne and Heather, grandchildren Rachel and Lauren, her great grandchildren Henry, Mikaela and Lucy, and her dear cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday at Harmon Funeral Home from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Religious Ceremony will be on Saturday at Bethel Community Church at 10am with an interment to follow at Silver Mount Cemetery.
