Margaret S. "Peggy" Cooper, 87, of Southington, Connecticut peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at her home. Wife of the late David Cooper and beloved mother to her daughter Heidi. She was the youngest of three sisters, born in New Britain to Rudolph and Julia Strohecker. She was an office worker at Fafnir Bearing before marrying and moving to Southington, Connecticut. Besides being a dedicated mother, Peggy worked part time for the Step Saver before joining the Billing Department at Bradley Memorial Hospital where she worked until she retired. In her early retirement she spent many weekends playing games with her grandsons, watching their sports games and being a big part of their life. In her late years she was often seen sweeping her driveway by the neighbors or sitting on the stoop. She enjoyed playing Setback with her friends, or Solitaire while enjoying her favorite ice cream treat.
She leaves behind her only child Heidi Warseck of Bristol and her two grandsons Kyle and Ryan Warseck. She also leaves behind her oldest sister Barbara "Bobbie" Tompkins, nieces Holly Ceruti and Tracy Pace, nephews Jay Thompson and "Buddy" Tompkins. She was predeceased by her sister Julia Thompson.
The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to her live in caretaker Sharel, who spent the last years of Margaret's life with her ensuring her daily needs were met.
