Ann Vulevich Woodson was born on December 12, 1939, in Mobile, Alabama, to her loving parents, Edward John Vulevich, Sr., and Philomena Jane Reynalds. All through her life, Ann shared a special bond with her four siblings, including her late brother Edward John Vulevich Jr., and her late sister Kay Vulevich Quinn (Dave).
After graduating from the Convent of Mercy Academy in 1958, Ann dedicated her career to public service. She worked for the federal government, holding various positions with the Social Security Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the US Geological Survey. Her work made a significant impact on her community, leaving a lasting legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
While Ann had a successful career, her true passions lay in the love and care she showered upon her family. On May 1, 1965, Ann married the love of her life, Richard Bayne Woodson, and together they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering love. Ann’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she nurtured them with boundless affection and guidance.
Ann was a beloved friend to many, always making everyone feel valued and cherished. Her infectious sense of humor brought smiles to the faces of all she encountered. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her memory will be cherished for the love and joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy of kindness and her ability to make people feel cherished will forever inspire those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, Ann is survived by her daughter Stephanie “Saucey” Woodson Smith (Dan), son Rich Woodson, grandson Max Trierweiler, granddaughter Taylor Smith, sisters Jane Vulevich Hieronymus (George) and Helen Vulevich, her sister-in-law Diane Vulevich, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held Friday, June 7th at 1:00 pm followed by a reception at Bayview-Fisher-Pou Chapel. A private family inurnment will be held before the service.
