Obituary
Concepcion Botello Benavente passed peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the age of 97. She was born on the island of Taboga, Panama November 1926 to Luis Isidro Botello Bustamante and Carmen Martinez de Botello. She came from a large family of 13 siblings.
She met her loving husband Staff Sergeant Jose Perez Benavente while serving in the United States Army stationed in Panama. He was transferred to Fort Ord, Ca in 1956 and that’s when they became residents in Seaside, Ca.
Concepcion was a wife to Jose Perez Benavente, daughter to Ana Maria Harris, son Brandon Benavente Stevens. Carmen Julia Bishop married to Daniel Bishop, son to Joseph Nicholas Bishop and Jon Daniel Bishop married to Ellen Rose Bishop, great grandmother to Jaydin Morin-Bishop, Serena Bishop and Kingston Bishop and to her only living sisters in Panama Rosa Botello de Herrera and Julia Botello de Carano.
Concepcion was a devoted Parisher at St. Francis Xavier Church on La Salle Avenue in Seaside since1956. She did a lot of volunteer work at her church. She was a Eucharist Minister, she volunteered in the office counting money from the offerings, she worked in the Food Bank distributing food to those in need, she worked in the church gardens, she would also contribute to the yearly church fiesta in August, she also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul sorting and pricing donations. Plus, Concepcion worked for several years at CHOMP in Carmel, Ca until she retired.
She loved working in her garden, shopping, traveling and going on retreats with her friends from church. She loved her dogs King, Rena, Tango, Susie (who just passed few days after my mom) and Tilly.
Concepcion will be deeply missed and remembered for her smile, her giving soul and the love for her family.
