Joseph was born in San Francisco to parents, Jeanette and Howard Brusco (both deceased). He attended McKinley Elementary and Everett Jr. High. While at Polytechnic High School, he played on the 1963/64 130s City Basketball Championship Team.
As a young man, Joe enjoyed playing in the Twilight Softball League at the Eureka Valley Playground.
Joseph served his country in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.
Joe enjoyed playing golf all his life with family and friends. He was a lifelong 49ers fan, and held season tickets for many years. Joe was a driver for Muni for over 20 years.
Joseph is survived by his sisters, Charlotte and Virginia. He is also survived by his cousins, Bill Wilson and Matthew Fryer; and his sister-in-law, Jeanne Brusco.
"Uncle Joe" leaves behind many nieces and nephews, beginning with Vianna, Melody, Carrie, Howard Jr., Roslyn, Heidi and Carol.
Joe was predeceased by his brothers, Charles and Howard. Joe was also predeceased by his cousins, James Wilson, Herbert Duffy, and Ellen Duffy.
