Elena was born to Lidia and Ricardo Del Palacio in El Paso, Texas, on July 12th, 1946. She was one of ten children, seven brothers and two sisters.
Anybody who knew "Grandma Nina" knew she loved God, her family, her animals, lottery tickets, and her Steelers. She was a wild spirit whom most would say was the life of the party, and if there was no party, she'd make her own. She loved music and loved to dance and would intrigue you with stories of her life and all her crazy adventures. She embraced being her crazy rebel self, and you couldn't help but love her for it. Her energy and presence were one of a kind and will be forever missed.
Elena is survived by her husband, Olaf Grahn; her daughters Jennifer, Jeanette, and Patricia; her sisters Celia and Bertha; her brother Hector; her several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many others who loved her. Although our hearts are broken that she is no longer with us, she is finally reunited with her parents, six brothers, and great-grandson.
To honor Elena's life, a visitation will be held Sunday, May 19th, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, followed by a memorial service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. If you would like to send condolences or flowers, you may do so to the address above a day before the service.
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. John 11:25-26
