Ed was born in Flint, Michigan to the late Estel and Willa Dean Oliver. He was also preceded in death by his three sisters.
Ed was a devoted Christian who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ above all else. He was also a family man, who loved and cherished his wife, Dana, and his children, Derek and Lindsey. His grandchildren were always certain to bring a smile to his face, and he loved spending time with them. Ed was an active member of his churches and communities throughout his life, lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. His selflessness and joy made him a cherished and loyal friend to many.
Ed worked for 42 years at Pfizer/Hospira as an HVAC mechanic. He was a respected member of his team and known for his work ethic and commitment.
Ed loved hunting and being outdoors. He found great joy in helping others harvest deer, hogs, turkey and geese. The cabin that Ed and Dana built on Beaver Lake in Arkansas was his favorite place, and he loved to share it with family and friends. He learned the lake well and shared his knowledge of fishing to help countless friends and family reel in trophy size Striper.
Ed is survived by his wife Dana of 44 years, his son Derek (Darcy) Oliver and their children Dayton, Deegan and Dristan, and daughter Lindsey (Matt) Regier, and their children Ben and Adalyn, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ed will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family, friends, and colleagues.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at New Hope Evangelical Church in McPherson, Kansas. The family will welcome friends and family from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. for fellowship and coffee followed by the service at 10:00 a.m.
