Nancy was born on November 7, 1955 to Stan and Beverly Chambers in Los Angeles, California. She was the fourth of their eleven children and grew up in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
After her first year of college, Nancy met Rob, the love of her life, during the summer of 1975 in Wyoming while both were working at a resort near Yellowstone. They were married one year later. Their magnetic love that started in the Tetons ultimately led them out to beautiful Southern California, where they raised their four children. Nancy was simply unbelievable as a mother, and raised her children with boundless love.
In addition to being an incredible Mother, Nancy dedicated herself to a distinguished career as an oncology nurse for over 35 years. She specialized in breast cancer and palliative care. In her career, she earned “The Daisy Award” at Little Company of Mary in Torrance for her excellence in clinical care and her abundant compassion for her patients.
Nancy loved spending time hiking and skiing in Mammoth, cooking and enjoying delicious dinners with her family, taking long walks on the bluffs, and gardening.
Nancy was blessed with a gentle warm demeanor and the ability to lift the spirits of those around her. Nancy could always find a way to relate to those she met and always knew how to make everyone feel comfortable. Her unwavering optimism truly enhanced the lives of every person she came across. Nancy’s endearing spirit will live on among all of us who were fortunate enough to have met her. Her kind smile and musical laugh will always warm our hearts.
