Shirley K. Miller

She was born and raised in Ravenna and at age 94 was a resident of the Vista Veranda in Ravenna. Born September 2, 1927 to Thomas and Goldie Post. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd R. Miller, Jr, son Floyd R. Miller, III, parents Thomas and Goldie Post and sister, Sarah Brunn.

She married Floyd R. Miller, Jr. on April 6, 1952. Survived by daughter Diane (Lawrence) Kehner. She was blessed with grandchildren, Kimberly (Bryan) DeLorso, Nicholl Kehner, Heather Simmers, Ryan (Hannah) Kehner, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Shirley graduated from Ravenna High School in 1945 and attended Boeheckers business college. She was a secretary employed by Darwal Furniture Factory and later at the Portage County Human Services as bookkeeper. Shirley was very active at her church, First Church of God, as Sunday school teacher, church and WCG historian. Shirley was church organist for over 60 years. Shirley also enjoyed quilting every Monday morning with her sisters in Christ.

Shirley enjoy sewing, knitting and was most loving and generous to her children and church family. She dedicated her whole life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was a wonderful example to us all and will be greatly missed.

Special thanks to all the staff and team members at the Vista Veranda and Affinity Hospice for their kind and compassionate care that was given to Mom.

Memorial donations would be appreciated and can be made to the Center of Hope.

Friends will be received at the First Church of God, 237 New Milford Rd., Ravenna, on Tuesday, May 7, from 10am until the 11am funeral service, officiated by Pastor Todd Huston. Interment at Grandview Memorial Park will follow.
