Born in Providence, Filomena was the beloved daughter of the late Miguel and Maria Almeida. She had a strong educational background, graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School and pursuing coursework at Providence College. Filomena dedicated herself to her career at the John E. Fogarty Center, where she made enduring contributions over many years.
Filomena is fondly remembered and cherished by her surviving relative, LaShann Andrade-Hazard, as well as a large host of family and friends. She also held dear memories of her late relatives, James Andrade and Bud Ferguson.
Family and friends are invited to honor Filomena's life at the visitation on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, located at 21 Traverse Street, Providence, R.I.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Filomena will be laid to rest at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence, R.I.
Filomena's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
