She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on May 2, 1919 to Ann (Orovis) Burgess and Albert Burgess. Before retiring in 1981 she worked in Jewelry Sales at Service Merchandise in Hialeah, Florida and at the Miami Herald in Miami, Fla.
She dedicated 12 years of her life to the Foreign Mission Field in Liberia and Sierra, Leone where her husband Ralph Albrecht was building schools, hospitals and mission housing.
In 1981 she and her husband retired to Englewood, Florida where she taught creative writing classes. She was a published author of several books about mission life and short stories for children.
During her time in Englewood she attended Calvary Baptist Church and West Charlotte Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph G. Albrecht in 2001 and in 2010, her daughter-in-law, Sheila Albrecht, married to Ron Albrecht and Ray Dillard, son-in-law, married to Ann Dillard.
Survivors include sons Douglas M. Albrecht (Prudence), Ronald Albrecht, and Ann Dillard, Venice Fl. She had five Grandchildren and six Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday , Sept. 22nd. Interment will be at Gulf Pines Memorial Park, Englewood.
