Marty will be remembered as a much loved wife, mom, aunt, mother-in law, and friend. Marty was born to Lee and Martha Ray on June 10th, 1944. In 1967, Marty gave birth to her son Bobby. Later in life Bob enjoyed a very successful 30 year career in the US Air Force. Marty eventually pursued a career as a recruiter with Blue Cross and Blue Shield. During this time she met a new employee, Jim McCann. It became a love relationship that spanned over forty years.
Marty was passionate about traveling. During Marty and Jim's tenure with Blue Cross they enjoyed their annual trip to Maine. Upon both retiring they enjoyed cruising, from Alaska to the Caribbean to Hawaii and several trips to Europe. They were always planning their next trip. Marty was an excellent seamstress, superb crafter, and impressive baker winning many First Place ribbons at the Texas State Fair. Marty had an awesome sense of humor, infectious laugh, and always lit up the room with her presence.
Marty was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Martha Ray, her brothers Lee Junior and Billy Glenn (Barbara). She is survived by her two brothers, Bobby Ralph (Bernice) and Joe Lyn (Cledith), her husband James McCann, her son Bobby Bankston (Lynda), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marty will be greatly missed, and remembered by the endless number of people who knew and loved her. She leaves behind countless memories.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no memorial service.
