Ruth Gonet Booth passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 2, 2024, days after her 94th birthday. She was born on April 30, 1930, in Monaca, Pennsylvania to the late Walter and Anna (Pulkowski) Gonet.
Ruth was employed by the Bank of Tucson in the 1950’s and returned to Pittsburgh where she was employed by the Fraternal Order of Eagles in the 1960’s. She faithfully participated and served in both the Penn Hills Alliance Church and the Allegheny Center Alliance Church for many years.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Booth, who was the love of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith and her family were the most important things to her, and she would talk endlessly about them to anyone who would listen. She prayed constantly for her family, her community, and her country.
She loved flowers, birds, ice cream, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Turner Classic Movie channel. Although she always called Pittsburgh home, Ruth moved to Eastern Pennsylvania in 2020 to be with her family. Ruth is survived by her son Glenn Booth (Jennifer), and four grandchildren, Sarah Krueger (Dakota), Peter Booth (Constance Seely-Gant), Daniel Booth, and Elizabeth Booth. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces and their families.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her five older siblings, Helen Waggoner, Winifred Ketterer, Walter Gonet, Edward Gonet, and Norman Gonet.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Ruth's honor to the Sparrow Fund, a ministry serving foster and adoptive families. See links below for further information.
