First and foremost, Hilda was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. As a devout Catholic, she served as a eucharistic minister at her home parish, St. Joseph the Worker, and interceded on behalf of others through prayer. Hilda served the Pierre Part community for over twenty years as a librarian. Aside from her commitment to her faith and family, Hilda was a girl’s girl. She enjoyed traveling with friends, getting together with Assumption High alumni for lunches, and was a loyal member of TOPS and the Red Hat Society.
Hilda is survived by her beloved children, Brian Simoneaux (Andrea), Becky Diez (Chris), and Dean Simoneaux; her seven grandchildren, Cherish Watts, Jordan Kraemer, Trae Simoneaux, Ryan Simoneaux, Julian Simoneaux, Ellie Kate Simoneaux, and Savannah Benoit; her three great-grandchildren, Carter, Quinn, and Vera Watts; her eight siblings, Margie Cedotal, Vivian Bonadona, Betty Boudreaux, Roland Templet, Evelyn Ourso, Rosie Shreve, Johnny Templet, and Mark Templet; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ulysse and Ozelia Templet.
A Wake Service will take place on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part from 6pm until 9pm and will resume on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 9am until 11am when the Funeral Mass will commence at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. The following excerpt from Psalm 23 was specially marked in Hilda’s Bible:
You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life; And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for years to come.
