A dedicated hard worker and family man, Jesus Fino was born in Los Angeles, California. He was raised in Huanuzco, Zacatecas Mexico where he met his wife, Maria Paz Fino. They were married on November 23, 1945, for 68 beautiful years. Jesus and Maria Fino moved to Oxnard, California in the 60’s. They worked in agriculture and would have 16 children together, due to illness and poverty, only 5 would survive.
Jesus was known for his kind and humorous spirit. His warm smile, made everyone around him feel welcomed and cared for. Jesus had a great love for his family. He enjoyed making others laugh with his amusing nature. His known greeting to family was “Que nos pasha?”, something his loved ones will miss hearing. Jesus loved going for his daily walks to the local market, where he would often befriend others. During his last years, he frequented the Among Friends Community Center. He not only had great care for others but also enjoyed being outdoors, he especially loved being in the garden, a love that began with his wife Maria. He would often visit the community garden with his eldest son, Jose (Chema) Fino.
His family and friends will dearly miss Jesus. Everyone who knew him loved him.
And for everyone who knew Jesus, we ask one last time…Simoneis o No Simoneis?
