Born April 25th, 1947, raised in El Marmol, Guanajuato. Javier was the oldest child to Merced Ramos and Esperanza Alvarado. He started working at a very young age to help his family. Along with his uncles and cousins, he helped on the farm raising livestock. Growing up with many necessities instilled a hard work ethic in him. In 1968, he married his wife Arcelia, and soon after, they had 2 children. Javier migrated to the US in hopes of a better future for his wife and children. While being fresh in California, he struggled, but he worked hard and persevered.
Over the years 3 more children came. Javier did his best to provide for his growing family while still helping his family in Mexico. With hard work and discipline to save, he accomplished one of the biggest things in life, to own his home. He was so proud that he was able to accomplish such a goal. At the age of 60, he was diagnosed with a rare infection that did not let him work anymore. He was forced to retire at the age of 62. To Javier, the best thing that ever happened in his life were his grandchildren. He loved them with all his heart and gave them everything he possibly could. With years of illness, loss of loved ones, and just changes in life, he managed to keep going. His main motivation being his family.
He loved to watch baseball. His team, the Dodgers, was his number #1. He did not discriminate against any game that was on TV he watched. In the off-season, he would also watch the international leagues. His daily routine involved walking 2-5 miles, which was his way of relaxing. While on walks, he would stop at his local gas stations or liquor stores to buy his favorite Scratchers. If you ever wanted to brighten his day, a scratcher would do the trick.
A day before his passing, he had just celebrated his 77th birthday. From good food, great gifts, and family. His face was full of light and joy when his grandchildren gave him his gifts. That's all he wanted, his family. He was loved, respected, and appreciated.
Javier is survived by his wife Arcelia Ramos, his children Jaime Ramos, Lila Ramos, Jose Ramos, Cristal Ramos Murillo, and Stephanie Ramos. As well as his daughter in law Consuelo Gomez and son in law Gerardo Murillo. He also had eight grandchildren: Javier Ramos, Destiny Ramos, Angel Tinoco-Ramos, Myranda Ramos, Joaquin Ramos, Ily Murillo, Keno Murillo, and Mia Murillo.
Javier will be remembered fondly by his family and friends as a wonderful father, grandfather and friend.
