A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 1 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa. A brief internment service will be held at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 on Saturday, May 4.
Mary Lou Woolf was born in Deadwood, South Dakota to Paul Ager and Myrtle (Merle) Rose Kratzer on September 24, 1933. She was raised by Merle and Russell Paul (Whitey) Lessard. She grew up in Denver, Colorado, and Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and also spent time traveling the country in a carnival with her family. She married LC Hardin in 1948, and they had two children, Mary and Bill. Mary Lou put herself through barber school and became a licensed barber. She eventually owned her own barber shop on 8th Street in Odessa, TX. On April 4, 1964, she married Douglas Woolf, creating a new family that included Linda and Ronnie. Mary Lou and Doug were members of the Assembly of God Church and pillars of every church they attended. Mary Lou taught Sunday school classes from children to adults. She lived her life serving others and walking with them through their struggles and trials. She had a tender heart, especially for children and animals. Mary Lou helped to found Birthright of Odessa, serving over the years in multiple roles from peer counselor to president of the board.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Woolf, her parents, her brothers, Billie Ager and Miles Jan Lessard, and her son-in-law Norman Ray Holley.
She is survived by her children Mary Holley, Bill Wayne Hardin (Deborah), Linda Whitney (Robert), and Ronnie Woolf; her grandchildren Michael Holley (Renee), April Thompson (Daniel), Carrie Holley-Hurt (Russell), Casey Hardin, Haley Hardin, Brandon Brenon, Heather Murphy (Mike), Clay Ortiz (Kerri), Joshua Ortiz (Brittney), and Elijah Ortiz (Erica Mason); her great-grandchildren Sarah Heflin (Chris), Christopher Holley (Erin), Stephen Holley, Lilly Holley, Abigail Thompson, Tabitha Thompson, Micah Thompson, Gideon Thompson, Pheonix Holley-Hurt, Alexandria Holley-Hurt; Jaden Hardin, Caden Aulds, Leo Aulds, Raven Brenon, Sara Brenon, Bella Brenon, Joshua Casteel, Stormie Gonzales (Jason Keeton), Chelsea Gonzales (Richard Borrego), Levi Ortiz, Luke Ortiz, Logan Ortiz, Caden Ortiz, and Sofia Ortiz; and her great-great-grandchildren Deacon Heflin, Shepherd Heflin, Jessica Casteel, Jade Casteel, Declan Hanna, Wrenlee Keeton, Zaylee Garcia, Harmony Gomez, Lilliana Borrego. She is also survived by her sister Saralee Harper and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family of Mary Lou wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Midland-Odessa who compassionately cared for her during her last days. We are especially grateful for the love and care of Jay, Tammi, and Michael, as well as Chaplain Clark Racca, who provided spiritual comfort and guidance to Mary Lou and her loved ones.
