Rose Marie Baran, nee Serio, age 81, passed away on May 1, 2024, at home with her husband and family by her side. She was born on August 5, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland. Rose, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Rose is survived by her loving husband, Edward B. Baran; and her children Theresa and Carroll Swayne, Donna Baran and Chester Thomas, Elizabeth and William Klepetka, Salvatore and Cathy Tracey, Sean and Jennifer Baran. Her 9 grandchildren along with their spouses and 14 great-grandchildren. As well as her siblings Salvatore Serio, Elizabeth Riley, and Salvatora (Sally) Tyler. She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Baran; and siblings Roberta Abel, Carmello Serio, Anna Morrison, and Catherine Parrish.
Rose was a dedicated bank teller throughout her career. She was known for her warm personality and kind heart; always lighting up the room with her presence. Rose was family-oriented, funny, and lovable; leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Rose was a devout member of the Catholic community and found solace in her faith and her places of worship. In her free time, Rose enjoyed genealogy, loved history, and took pleasure in planning family events. Rose loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great-
grandchildren. Rose's love and legacy will continue to live on in the memories and hearts of all of those that love her.
A service to honor Rose's life will be held at Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Road, Nottingham, MD 21236 on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11AM at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 9215 Old Harford Road, Parkville, MD 21234. Relatives and friends are welcome to come to the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 AM or gather directly at the church.
Interment will follow at Parkwood Cemetery, 3310 Taylor Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21234.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rose's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
