Vicente Trejo Maldonado, 89, of Sylmar, California passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills.
Born in the town of Tarimoro in Guanajuato, Mexico, on May 7, 1934, Vicente was the son of Jose Guadalupe Trejo and Emiliana Maldonado. He married Guadalupe Ramirez Acevedo on May 30, 1965, in their hometown of Tarimoro. Vicente dedicated over twenty-five years of his life as a Plant Manager for Burbank Unified School District before retiring.
A lifelong learner, he found joy in the pages of history books and newspapers, cultivating his love for reading throughout his lifetime. He will be remembered as the first member of his family to immigrate to the United States in search of economic and educational opportunities.
Among his many interests were long walks around his neighborhood, dancing, singing mariachi music, and welcoming people to his home.
Vicente is survived by his devoted wife, Guadalupe Trejo, and his loving children: Emeline Mendez (Alfredo), Margarita Chavez (Juan Carlos), Vince Trejo (Angelica), Teresa Trejo, and Hector Trejo. He will also be deeply missed by his adoring grandchildren: Elizabeth Mendez, Anthony Chavez, Adrian Mendez, Sebastian Chavez, Diego Trejo, and Daniel Trejo.
Honoring Vicente as pallbearers will be Vince Trejo, Hector Trejo, Alfredo Mendez, Juan Carlos Chavez, Anthony Chavez, Adrian Mendez, Diego Trejo, and Daniel Trejo.
In celebration of Vicente’s life, a memorial service will be held on May 20, 2024 at San Fernando Mission Catholic Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and legacy.

Vicente Trejo Maldonado, de 89 años, de Sylmar, California, falleció el miércoles 1 de mayo de 2024, rodeado de su amada familia en el Providence Holy Cross Medical Center en Mission Hills.
Nacido en el pueblo de Tarimoro en Guanajuato, México, el 7 de mayo de 1934, Vicente era hijo de José Guadalupe Trejo y Emiliana Maldonado. Se casó con Guadalupe Ramírez Acevedo el 30 de mayo de 1965, en su pueblo natal de Tarimoro. Vicente dedicó más de veinticinco años de su vida como Gerente de Planta para el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Burbank antes de jubilarse.
Aprendiendo durante toda su vida, encontró alegría en las páginas de libros de historia y periódicos, cultivando su amor por la lectura a lo largo de su vida. Será recordado como el primer miembro de su familia en emigrar a los Estados Unidos en busca de oportunidades económicas y educativas.
Entre sus muchos intereses se encontraban largas caminatas por su vecindario, bailar, cantar música de mariachi y dar la bienvenida a la gente en su hogar.
Vicente es sobrevivido por su dedicada esposa, Guadalupe Trejo, y sus amados hijos: Emeline Méndez (Alfredo), Margarita Chávez (Juan Carlos), Vince Trejo (Angélica), Teresa Trejo y Héctor Trejo. También será profundamente extrañado por sus adorados nietos: Elizabeth Méndez, Anthony Chávez, Adrián Méndez, Sebastián Chávez, Diego Trejo y Daniel Trejo.
Honrando a Vicente como portadores del féretro estarán Vince Trejo, Héctor Trejo, Alfredo Méndez, Juan Carlos Chávez, Anthony Chávez, Adrián Méndez, Diego Trejo y Daniel Trejo.
En celebración de la vida de Vicente, se llevará a cabo un servicio conmemorativo el 20 de mayo de 2024 en el Cementerio Católico de la Misión de San Fernando, donde familiares y amigos se reunirán para honrar su memoria y legado.
