Nolan H Dietert passed away on April 28th at the age of 89. He was born in Guadalupe Co., TX on October 30, 1934, to Egon and Melitta Dietert. Nolan worked on the family farm and learned how to fix things as they broke. He graduated from Navarro HS and then from Draughon’s Business College in San Antonio. He married Erna Lou Brodt in 1955. His job with Ferguson Mack Truck as Parts Manager in San Antonio helped him launch his career in Lawn and Garden Equipment Distribution. He owned Engine House, Inc. that distributed parts and equipment to a 5-state region. Coming back to New Braunfels in 1991, he owned Andy’s Repairs. He then joined the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce and became a Blue Coat and Life Member because of his dedication to their cause.
Nolan was an active member of St Paul Lutheran Church and served as an Usher and was on the Property Board. He enjoyed home bible study groups and adult Sunday School.
Nolan was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Erna Lou; son Darrell (Kelley), and Bryan (Anita); sister Arlene (William) Harborth; grandchildren Zachary, Matthew, Nathan, Joshua, and James Dietert, Lauren Amick, Kaytee Vela, Matthew, TJ, and Jon Goss; and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at St Paul Lutheran Church on Thursday May 9th at 4:30 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 5:30 PM. The Church will provide light refreshments after the service. Private interment will be the following day.
