Michael "Red" Bennett
August 29, 1951 – April 30, 2024

Michael "Red" Stanley Bennett, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on August 29, 1951, to the late Joseph and Jessie Mae Bennett. Red worked for the Port of Louisville for some years; he retired as a truck driver.
Red was always making jokes and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed barbecues and spending time with family. Fishing, bowling, and traveling were other hobbies Red enjoyed in his past time.
Along with his parents, Red is preceded in death by his other family members, David Lee Bennett, Deborah Bennett, Larry "Blue" Bennett, William "Butch" Bennett, and James Edward Lee.
He is survived by his children, Michael Casey, Frank Bennett, and Miles Bennett; former wife, Simone Carter; grandchildren, Jalen Casey and McKenna Casey; sister, Clarice Green; brothers, Victor Bennett and Alex Bennett; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Red will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Lincoln Park Apostolic Church, 1216 Adams Street, Clarksville, Indiana, 47129. A private burial will be held in New Albany National Cemetery at a later date.
