Peggy Joyce Kleopfer

Peggy Joyce Kleopfer, age 88, of Nashville, Indiana died Thursday morning, May 2, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born January 3, 1936 in Harlan, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Carl O. and Lilly Martha (Lewis) Spencer. Peggy retired after 40 years of service as a material planner at Cummins Engine in Columbus, Indiana. She was a great cook and enjoyed oil painting and attending Bible study at Rising Hope Baptist Church where she was a member. Peggy is survived by her three daughters; Rhonda (Frank) Thompson, of Columbus, Indiana, Brenda (David) Plessinger, of Nashville and Tyra (Lance) Miller, of Nashville; three step-children, Archie Kleopfer, of W. Palm Beach, Florida, Debbie Kleopfer, of Bonnie Lake, Washington and Lisa (Steve) Williams, of Austin, Indiana; two sisters, Betty McClain, of Grand Rivers, Kentucky and Gladys Henson, of Milton, Kentucky, fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James Hacker, her second husband, Lewis Kleopfer, her son, Michael Lynn Hacker, in 2007 and siblings, Carl Arvis Spencer, Lena Bailey, Orbin Spencer, Anita Spencer, Cinda McMullen, Freida Amos, Ronald Spencer and David Spencer. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, at 3:00 p.m. at Rising Hope Baptist Church; 1267 Old State Rd. 46, Nashville, Indiana. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday at the church from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a gathering for food and fellowship at the Robinwood Inn; 914 Highland Drive; Nashville following the entombment service at the cemetery. The family suggests to friends who wish that memorial contributions may be given to a charity of their choice.
