In Loving Memory of Deacon Santos A. Rodriguez

Santos A. Rodriguez, 74, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 11th at his residence. Born on May 9, 1949 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Santos was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and spiritual leader who left an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched.

Santos dedicated his life to various pursuits, leaving a legacy of love, faith, and compassion. Professionally, he served as a Field Engineer for Eastman Kodak and later ventured into entrepreneurship, owning his own business. His commitment to spirituality led him to study theology, and he eventually became a Deacon for the Archdiocese of Miami serving Good Shepherd Catholic Church and St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church.

As a spiritual leader, Santos played a pivotal role in our community. He tirelessly worked to strengthen the faith of others, offering both guidance and financial support to those in need, even during challenging times for himself. His generosity knew no bounds, and his compassion for others left an enduring impact on the hearts of many.

Beyond his professional and spiritual endeavors, Santos had a deep love for music and baseball. He wasn't just a passive listener; he found joy in playing his guitar and singing, especially during holidays. However, his greatest source of happiness was spending time with his family which brought him immeasurable joy.

Santos is survived by his devoted spouse, Norma M. Rodriguez, six children: Walter, Maribel, Richard, Rey, Evelyn, Luis and 11 cherished grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Sadly, Santos was preceded in death by his mother, Maria E. Otero, father, Santos A. Rodriguez, and daughter, Maria Lourdes Rodriguez (affectionately known as Lulu), who passed away at the age of 12 on September 3, 1987.

In recognition of his significant contributions to both the spiritual and personal lives of those around him, Santos will be remembered as a pillar of strength, compassion, and love. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he served so selflessly.

A visitation to celebrate Santos's life will be held on Wednesday, November 15th, at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, located at 14881 SW 288th St, Homestead, FL, from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday, November 16th, at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, at 12:30 p.m. with interment at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery located at 11411 NW 25th Street, Miami, FL 33172 at 2:30 p.m.

Santos A. Rodriguez, a beloved father, grandfather, and Deacon, will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.
