He was a 2019 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Applied Sciences, with a degree in Criminal Justice. His career plans and goals changed a few times, leading him to working at the Grand Canyon and Glacier National Park, where he met the love of his life, Sarah, who he’d planned to spend the rest of his life with.
Patrick had goals for his career, but the most important thing to him was family. What he wanted most in life was to have a family of his own. He never got to be the husband, dad, fun uncle, or Papaw he wanted to be, which is a huge loss to those closest to him, knowing how much love he had to give.
Patrick was, however, a wonderful son, a protective brother, a loving boyfriend, and the best friend anyone could ask for. He had family who were also his friends and friends that were more his family. Knowing him was truly a blessing.
Patrick was an Eagle Scout and was active in Troop 307 for over ten years, from Tiger Cubs until after he’d achieved Eagle. Being in Scouts taught Patrick a lot and helped him find a lot of his love for the outdoors. He was also a runner and competed on the cross country and track and field teams at Loveless Academic Magnet Program (LAMP) High School. He helped break school records and competed at multiple state championships, even placing Top 10 in the district—even almost ten years later, runners from around the district remember Patrick as “the kid in the banana suit.” Patrick loved to fish (especially with his Papaw), hike, camp, run, grill with his dad—basically anything that got him outside. His love of the outdoors took him to the National Parks and a job he loved, as well as to a place where he met some of his best friends and his beloved Sarah.
During his time at Ole Miss, his outgoing personality led him to meet and become friends with many people from students, to their parents, to student athletes. He could call coaches by their first name. He was able to have a wonderful college experience due to the friends he made that were more his family.
He was an Ole Miss Rebel through and through. He had an exuberance for football and baseball season. Waiting in line for hours with his friends for his spot in the student section for baseball season; grilling at the games and making more friends while doing it; tailgating and sitting front row at every football game he could; always ready to kick off an “Are you ready?” He was an Ole Miss Rebel. His love of sports did spill over, though, to root for his dad’s alma mater (Troy University) with him.
Patrick was a man of faith, of selflessness, and, to quote some of his best friends, of principle. He found a friend in everyone he met, and once he was your friend, he was beside you for life. He was there whenever someone needed him, no questions asked. To quote his friends again, Patrick always picked up.
Patrick is so deeply missed by his family and friends. No one will ever match his genuine kindness, his selflessness, or his care for others.
Patrick is preceded in death by his grandfathers John Ielaidnis and Nicholas Wolf, and his aunt Wendy McKinney. He is survived by his parents, Nick and Lori Wolf; his twin sister, Allie (Josh) Obregon; his girlfriend, Sarah; his grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Two services will be held to remember and celebrate Patrick. Those who attend the services are kindly asked to not wear black because Patrick never wanted to make people feel sad; instead view this as a celebration of his life and come dressed in bright colors, Ole Miss colors, or however you think Patrick would want you to be there.
