Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mamie Salter; her brothers, Buck, John, Duke and Ed; her sister, Liz and her sweet husband, Charles W. Hill. She is survived and loved by her sister Mary Jo Salter Brooks; her children, Charlene, Glenn and Ricky; a brother-in-law; two daughters-in-law; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and too many nieces and nephews to count and even more great-nieces and nephews.
Faye grew up in the bustling metropolis of Burnt Corn, AL picking cotton. She graduated from Lyeffion High School and less than two years later met and married Charlie. In time, they moved to Montgomery, eventually settled in Country Estates where she lived for 62 years and was a member at Catoma Baptist Church. Faye never met a stranger so her job as door greeter/demo lady at Sam's Club was perfect for her. And no matter how long or short a visit by family and friends, as they were leaving, she would always say "you ain't gotta go" or "what's your hurry?". Her favorite pastimes included watching women's sports, cutting grass, and bird watching and she was faithful to give treats to the trash pick up personnel each week as her way of saying "thank you". The family is grateful to neighbors and friends who have helped these last few years in taking care of her. She will be missed.
A visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM with a Graveside Service following. Pallbearers are Tony Salter, Butch Salter, Randy Brooks, Johnney B. Salter, Brad Hill, Luke Lawson. Honorary Pallbearers are nephews and great nephews . Most especially Jacob, Chase and Jordan.
