He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Alice (Accettullo) Arango. Born in Medellin, Colombia on January 20, 1960, he was the son of Berta Arango and the late Jesus Antonio Arango. At the age of 19, he came to the United States and began his adult life.
He was always known to be a hard working, dependable family member and friend. Willy worked in various capacities throughout his life, learning many trades. He worked with his hands to build and construct just about anything he put his mind to, and most importantly, support his family. Willy had a loving, caring, honest, and funny nature that was contagious and made him the life of every party. Willy enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends but his greatest joy in life came from spending time with his grandchildren. He adored them and made sure he was always there for them. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, brother, uncle and grandfather and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
In addition to his beloved wife Alice, he is survived by his two sons: Jose Arango Jr. (Kimberly) and Jesus Arango; grandsons: JT and Dominic; mother Berta Arango; siblings: Rosalba Jimenez (Raul), Ana Arango (Chico), Adriana Villa (Bert), Margarita, Berta-Ines (Albeiro), Pablo Arango (Nancy), Edwin Arango (Charisse), and Diego Arango; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends. He was predeceased by his father, Jesus Antonio Arango, and many other loved ones that were near and dear to him.
A funeral service to honor and remember Willy will be held at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home on Wednesday May 15, 2024. Friends may greet the family from 9am-11am with a service at the funeral home starting at 11am. Funeral home located at 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468 Willy will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and his family will celebrate his life by cherishing the many loving memories. May he rest in peace.
