Jim "Jimbo/Duggie" Lowden, age 81, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on December 26, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas to Judge Lowden and Inez Davis. Jim was raised in Crosby, Texas and graduated from Crosby High School and attended St. Louis University receiving a BA in Air Frame and Power Plant aircraft engines. He married Patricia Baldonado on November 30, 1963 and the couple had three children. He was in the US Air Force stationed at Biggs Field in El Paso, Texas during the Vietnam War from 1961-1965. Jim worked on combat aircraft as an aircraft mechanic. In 1968 he moved his family to Mesquite, Texas where he began his career with Braniff Airlines where he worked for more than 14 years. After Braniff he worked for E-systems, Express-one and Associated Air.
Jim even had the distinct honor of being hand selected to supervise maintenance on the Clinton/Gore Campaign flights in 1992.
In his spare time Jim Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and waterskiing, in his golden years, he would vacation to Colorado. His family and friends will always remember him as a strict, but loving man who would give you the shirt off of his back and knew no stranger.
Jim is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy; parents, Judge Lowden and Inez Lowden Alexander; sister, Denise; brother, Joe Lowden and his wife, Polly and brother-in-law, TJ Upshaw.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Stephen Lowden of Phoenix, Arizona and William "Billy" Lowden and wife, Tracey of Mesquite, Texas; grandchildren, Tyler Lowden of Phoenix, Arizona, CPL Ryan Lowden of Camp Pendleton, Shannon Lowden, Timothy Lowden and Grayson Lowden of Mesquite, Texas; brother, Tommy Lowden and wife, Karen and sister, Virginia Upshaw; a host of extended family and friends. Also longtime friend, Zana Railey, her daughter, Regina Mccullough and husband, Tony and their children, Meagan and Chase Mccullough.
A visitation for Jimbo/Duggie will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A funeral service will occur Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A committal service will occur Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Ridgeway Cemetery, Paige, Texas 78659.
