Clarence "Sonny" Clayton, Jr., age 79, of Gray, Georgia passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024. The family will greet friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Monday, May 6, 2024, at Snow's at Macon Memorial Park in Macon. A celebration of his life will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Dziadul officiating. Burial will be private at Macon Memorial Park.
Mr. Clayton was born December 18, 1944, in Macon to the late Clarence Cecil Clayton, Sr. and Ruby Irene Martin Clayton. He honorably served his country with the United States Air Force during Vietnam and was a member of the VFW, in Macon. Mr. Clayton was a retired engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad and enjoyed spending his time spoiling his dogs. He was also an avid motorcycle rider and fisherman. Mr. Clayton was preceded in death by a son: Cory Cecil Clayton and by three sisters.
Mr. Clayton is survived by his wife of fifty-six years: Norma Clayton; daughter: Stacy Fordham; grandson: Ches Fordham, and his dad: Clay Fordham; and by several nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
