Margaret Ludwig (Fincel) McMichael, lovingly known for her grace, elegance, and vibrant spirit, gracefully departed from this world on April 30, 2024, just after midnight. She was born November 5, 1936 in Louisville, KY. She was a beacon of style and sophistication, and possessed a timeless elegance that captivated all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Always impeccably put together, Margaret was never without her signature sparkles, lipstick and jewelry, her refined taste evident in every aspect of her life. Yet beneath her fashionable exterior lay a surprising passion – she was a masterful corn hole announcer, renowned for her spirited calls during family gatherings, where her voice would ring out with joyous exclamation: "in the hole, in the grass”.
Margaret’s greatest joy was spending time with her daughter Karen and her grandson Aaron. They brought her immeasurable happiness, enriching her life with love and laughter. In quieter moments, she delighted in the simple pleasures of gardening and savoring the tranquility of nature's embrace.
Margaret's love extended not only to her family but also to her cherished canine companions. With meticulous care, she ensured that her dogs were always impeccably groomed and pampered, reflecting her own commitment to excellence and beauty.
A woman of unwavering faith, Margaret found solace and community in her church, where she cherished the opportunity to worship alongside her beloved family. Her devotion to her Christian beliefs gave her purpose and meaning, guiding her actions with compassion and grace.
Margaret leaves behind a legacy of elegance, kindness, and enduring love. She leaves behind her daughter Karen Fincel, and her grandson Aaron Taylor, her sister Sandra Higgins, her nieces and nephews, her dear friend Shirley Bullington and her precious pooch Bella. She was preceded in death by her son Donald Edward Fincel, her husband Irvin A. Ludwig, her brother Ira B. McMichael Jr., her brother Edward McMichael, her father Ira B. McMichael Sr. and her mother Bertha Craven. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her presence. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, may we carry forth her spirit of grace and joy, remembering her with fondness and gratitude in our hearts.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213 and Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 12:00 PM, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213.
