Alice Anne was born on January 26, 1928, in Wray, Colorado to Leo Devlin and Nora Burns Devlin. Raised in northeastern Colorado, she graduated from Wray High School.
Alice Anne married Willard Pilkington at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Wray, Colorado on January 5, 1948. They spent time in Laird, Wray, and Akron, Colorado, before moving to Longmont in 1956.
Alice Anne's dedication to community service is evident throughout her life. She played a key role in establishing what is now the OUR Center in Longmont and a community outreach program in North Carolina. Later, she served as President of the Colorado Council of Catholic Women. Alice Anne and Willard also shared their spiritual practice by co-facilitating Centering Prayer workshops with Contemplative Outreach.
Alice Anne and Willard were active with both St. John the Baptist and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Churches. Her faith was an important, integral part of her daily life and routine.
Alice Anne cherished spending time with loved ones. Whether it was playing cards for fun, camping adventures in the Rockies, or hosting elaborate family meals for over 20 guests (complete with a beautifully set table!), she thrived on fostering connections.
Preceding her in death are: her husband, Willard, her daughter, Theresa, her son, Ronald, her brother and five sisters, four grandchildren, Emily Pilkington, Evan Pilkington, Michelle Pilkington and Drew Pilkington.
Surviving are: nine children, Andrew (Nina) Pilkington, Hotchkiss, Colorado; Anna Mary Platt, Longmont; James Pilkington (Amy), San Diego, California; V. Mark (Karen) Pilkington, Berthoud; Leo (Tammy) Pilkington, Cedaredge Colorado; Judith (Rob) Orbanosky, Firestone; Christopher (Julie) Pilkington, Yuma, Arizona; Louis (Denise) Pilkington, Firestone; and Brian (Angie) Pilkington, Harrisburg, North Carolina; 20 grandchildren: Nora Peterson, Daniel Pilkington, Jessie Pilkington, Jacob Morison, Jennifer Morison, Jonathan Morison, Adam Pilkington, Jerry Lacoco, Thomas Pilkington, Dominic Pilkington, Mary Clare Lockette, Sarah Wesseling, Mary Janecka, Hannah Orbanosky, Melissa Sellers, Michael Pilkington, Katie Pilkington, Austin Pilkington, Devon Pilkington, Phillip Pilkington, Emily Pilkington, Twenty-six great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.
